#42. The sun is my arch nemesis. Every time I leave cover, it tries to kill me with several kinds of radiation. This is why I became a dwarf and moved underground.

#36, based on the time one of our guys fell into a ditch at Pennsic. Not one that we dug for camp, just a regular drainage ditch. I think it jumped out at him.

#30. Last post for today. Contrary to what Minecraft tells us, digging is not easy. It’s still kinda fun, but can be hard work. At Pennsic, you also have the opportunity to uncover the artifacts of last year’s camp and play archaeologist. Since, Pennsic is a reenactment event, those remains range from 20th century tent pegs, to roman belt buckles. Also the occasional exclamation of “That’s where that went!”

#29, we’re on a roll. Digging trenches is what most of the army seems to be about, even our fun medieval camp needed a trench. Years later, I joined the real army and learned how to dig a proper trench. Shovels win wars.

#28. Two in a row that had anything like value. As a barely trained shieldman, my job was to catch arrows and spear heads for the ranks behind me. If I did it with my shield, that was better. It’s all for fun, so I was expendable.

#27? I never bothered to re-draw these ones. This is when the random nonsense got boring, and @lledra still hadn’t started publishing, so an actual story happened. About this time I also went to the Pennsic war. This comic became part journal for a time.

This was #5 (special edition). The first draft of #5 was bad, even for me. #4 just wasn’t funny. Only the “best” make it onto this blog.
