I’m sure I could make d&d maps much faster if I want concerned for the well being of those who live in them. I spent the afternoon adding a wine cellar and library to a small frontier fort. So that the NPCs will be entertained all winter when it gets slow.

1 0000 0000! Round numbers look so much better in binary!

Did you ever stop to think how much time passes during adventures that we never bother to see on screen? Lord of the Rings gave us a decent idea of how much walking there was, and the book definitely conveys how getting anywhere takes forever.

Even in sci-fi get actually get worse. Alpha Centauri is 18hrs away from earth at warp 6. I did the calculations, and ran the simulator at university. You could throw in entire other adventures en route to the neutral zone.

I should start making my players roll against boredom on a long march.

But seriously: I can totally understand how Donatello found a stick, and where Mikey found some smaller sticks and string… Raph is pushing it, but the sai could be welded from rebar if they have a forge. But a matched set of katana? Splinter must have stolen them from above. That rat!
