New Brunswick needs Doctors!

We all need to start putting pressure on this backwards province to become properly civilized. We finally have roads and fiber-op. Now we need doctors, food trucks, and decent asian restaurants- in that order.

Dear Member of Legislative Assembly (Provincial),

I have just had the most frustrating experience trying to get an appointment with a family doctor in your constituency. After about five years on the waiting list, I was finally given a space at the Oromocto family health clinic. I was supposed to have my first assessment in July. This was later rescheduled to today (15aug18). Three hours before my scheduled appointment I got a call from the office that I had missed my appointment. Apparently, the time they told me, and the time they scheduled were not the same. I am now scheduled for some time in September, assuming they will keep the appointment. This is, of course, not the fault of the government.

What IS the fault of the government is the fact we have so few doctors to begin with! It is wholly unacceptable in a civilized country that there should be such a thing as a waiting list to find a family doctor. Now, even though I have already lost confidence in the one assigned to me, there is not a chance in hell that I could find another one.

What is the government going to do about the sad state of healthcare in this province? Be assured, I am writing the candidates from other parties as well. If your answer is not satisfactory, I’m sure one of theirs will be.

Remembering you on voting day,

Vindalf
